Painting in watercolor is one of the most exhilarating and rewarding areas of picture making. The translucent qualities of the pigments give your work a luminous glow, and watercolor is very flexible, equally suited to loose, fluid sketches of landscapes and technically accurate botanical studies. It really comes into its own, however, when you work with total artistic freedom. You can blend the colors in a way that simply isn’t possible with other types of paint, due to the leisurely pace at which watercolors dry on paper.
Watercolor is a very exciting technique, it largely depends on the material used, like paper over that drip all colored dreams. The apparent simplicity of watercolor makes it attractive to beginners, but in reality, the very few opportunities of correction require mastery…
There are several ways to paint in the watercolor.
I paint mostly wet-in-wet technique that gives soft shapes and interesting chromatic variations.
